Length and frame rate
A 3 second clip at 30 fps is smooth and lands around 300 KB for a phone-sized comparison.
Dropping to 10 fps cuts the file roughly in half: the same two photos, smaller and slightly
steppier. For a social post, 3 to 5 seconds is usually enough for one clean reveal.
MP4 or WebM
The download button tells you which format your browser can record. Chrome, Edge and Safari
can record MP4 (H.264), which plays everywhere including social apps. When a browser cannot
record MP4, the button says Download WebM instead: smaller files, but some editors and
older devices will not open them. If neither is offered, the button reads
Video not supported — use the GIF export, or open the page in Chrome, Edge or Safari.
What the clip contains
- One frame at the start holding the “before” photo, one at the end holding the “after” photo, so the result loops cleanly.
- No sound. Add music or a voice-over in the app you post from.
- The clip has no corner mark. Exporting it needs no account, and there is no daily limit on video.
Common questions
Is the video made on a server?
No. The frames are drawn on a canvas and recorded by the browser's own encoder, so the photos never leave the device.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in a mobile browser that supports canvas recording (current iOS Safari and Chrome for Android). The GIF export is the fallback where the video encoder is missing.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed for anything on this page: every setting, every export, the MP4 and the GIF. PNG downloads have one clean export a day; after that the corner mark appears and Pro removes it.
Can I export a still image instead?
Yes — the PNG export is on the same panel, and the main page lists every layout and template.
